Transparent surfaces, profiles reduced to the essential, thresholds that dissolve: elements that do not impose themselves, but accompany space, enabling a perceptual and design continuity.

First event following Soglie del Mediterraneo, Utsuroi explores the Japanese concept of transformation and impermanence: a continuous and inevitable change reflected in landscapes, the passing of seasons, and transitional moments, dissolving the boundary between individual and environment.
The exhibition design, curated by Makoto Fukuda, translates this principle into a spatial dimension through suspended, organic elements—light and dynamic—whose movement evokes natural cycles and the transience of light and form. The space thus becomes a sensory experience, where perception and time intertwine.

With this project, Abadir interprets the new corporate exhibition space as a narrative environment, linking the concept of change in Utsuroi to the evolution of SicilCima.

Conceived for the opening of the new showroom in Catania, “Soglie del Mediterraneo” was much more than an inaugural event: it was both a symbolic and real moment of transition, capable of expressing SicilCima’s identity through the universal language of music.

The performance, entrusted to the Percussio Mundi ensemble of the “Vincenzo Bellini” Conservatory of Catania and curated by Giovanni Caruso and Salvatore Gozzo, shaped a sonic narrative made of stratifications and cultural references.
Percussion, with its primal and physical force, guided the audience through a journey across geographies and languages: from the ancestral rhythms of Ghanaia by Matthias Schmitt, to compositions by Giovanni Sollima, up to Drums in Square by Caruso himself, where rhythm becomes a collective and urban gesture.
A brief yet intense path, capable of condensing energy, tension and suggestion into an immersive narrative that revealed the new exhibition spaces.

Within this context, FUTURA MEMORIA, a cultural program curated by Salvatore Gozzo, has hosted music, visual arts and moments of shared reflection.

Futura Memoria has also been a convivial experience: chef Seby Sorbello and sommelier Mauro Cutuli, partners in the project with Sabir Gourmanderie, have accompanied each event with food and wine paths inspired by the themes explored, reinterpreting the Etnean tradition in a contemporary key.
